Syllabi and Course Schedules

Here you will find the syllabi and/or course schedules for the English Composition courses I have taught since 2019. Click the button to access information on the various textbooks I have used in the past and Open Educational Resources I use currently. Caveat: As an instructor at Cincinnati State, I was provided with syllabi by the English Department. Because the syllabi contain boilerplate language that is not to be changed, the syllabi do not vary greatly from instructor to instructor. As such, I am only providing the course schedules for those classes that I taught instead of the full syllabi. While the University of Cincinnati Clermont College provides instructors with a template that contains some required language and policies, we have much more flexibility to adapt the syllabi to suit our unique teaching approaches.  The writing of syllabi is often a hybrid affair, where we borrow bits and pieces from here and there, often without attributing the original authors. I am indebted to many of my more experienced colleagues who have shared their past syllabi with me, and I strive each term to continue to improve both my syllabus policies and course schedules to provide students with the most up-to-date pedagogy.
