Teaching Responsibilities

For all of my teaching assignments I have been the instructor of record responsible for all aspects of creating, implementing, and teaching course content for First and Second Year English Composition.

Instruction

I have taught in-person courses as a term adjunct since 2019, first at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College and then at University of Cincinnati (UC) Clermont College. In 2020, I also started teaching online synchronous classes as part of the switch to emergency remote instruction as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. I continue to teach both online asynchronous courses and in-person at UC Clermont as an annual adjunct with a 3-course load per semester with 1 course during the summer.

As the instructor of record for each class I teach, I create syllabi and course schedules, design instructional materials and activities that engage students both online and in the classroom, maintain well-organized courses on Canvas LMS, assess assignments and evaluate student writing, providing extensive feedback for editing and revision in a timely manner.

I also act as a support person for students, communicating student needs with tutoring, student success, and advising staff. I participate in semester assessments of designated general education course learning outcomes. Most recently, I have participated in a pilot program developing an alternative ENGL 1001 course aimed at improving student success and retention.
